Mindfulness-based Psychotherapy Integrating the mind, body, and spirit Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, (Federal) Substance Abuse Professional Phil Cole offers individuals, couples, families, and group psychotherapy to assist clients with issues that include: children’s issues, parenting, stress and fatigue, men’s issues, depression and anxiety, addictions assessments and treatment, codependence and domestic violence, grief and loss, career and life transitions, religious issues, and spiritual growth. Phil completed his Master’s in Social Work at the University of Michigan in 1972 after serving in the U.S. Army. His extensive clinical experience spans more than three decades of providing his adult and adolescent clients with innovative and caring psychotherapy in both in-patient and outpatient settings. Phil was the Clinical Director of the Judson Center (an adolescent residential treatment facility in suburban Detroit) before moving to Charlotte, NC in 1984. While in Charlotte he was the drug/alcohol counselor at East Mecklenburg High School and was in private practice for several years before moving to the High Country of North Carolina in 2006. Since moving to Ashe County, Phil has developed a substantial reputation as a multifaceted psychotherapist and substance abuse specialist. Phil currently partners with Cove Creek Center to provide therapy for several of the residents of Cove Creek Farm, a residential program for at risk young men. Phil has offices in Boone, Jefferson, and North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. Phil is able to bill most insurance companies directly or in some cases his services are reimbursable by insurance companies with whom he is not affiliated.
